LB (Loveday Byrd Uggerlimb) is the Head of Spectrum 8. Her name stands for Loveday Byrd as revealed in the final book.
Appearance and Personality[]
LB only ever wears white. She does not wear footwear and is generally seen barefoot with red nail polish.
LB is usually very stern and unsmiling. She is often annoyed with Ruby, especially her smart answers. She is described as not tolerating stupidity or mistakes, because mistakes, in her view, are stupidity. LB is not very friendly to any of the agents, except with Hitch and Agent Delaware, who she respects a lot. After Bradley Baker's return, she becomes softer and more friendly to Ruby.

Before he "died", LB was engaged to Bradley Baker. They were good friends ever since LB rescued Bradley from the crocodiles when he was 13. In 1962, LB was forced to shoot Bradley's plane by Casey Morgan. LB loved Bradley Baker a lot, but she decided to save 1000+ people's lives instead of his, which Bradley understood when she told him. This freed LB of her guilt, because he understood why it had happened.
Biography[]
LB grew up in Australia. She joined Spectrum after saving Bradley from the crocodiles when he was 13, and was Spectrum's first female agent. At some point she became the head of Spectrum 8.
LB was forced by Casey Morgan to choose between killing over 1000 people or Bradley Baker, and she chose to kill Bradley. After this event LB said her life was "drained of colour", which is why she always wore white.
In the first book LB sends Ruby Redfort cryptic messages and codes requesting that they meet to discuss business cracking codes in case evidence.
After Bradley is discovered in Blink and You Die, affected with amnesia, under the name Morgan Loveday, he gradually has his memory restored and remembers LB. Unfortunately after this discovery he soon dies in combat leaving LB 'full of sorrow' but grateful to Ruby for bringing Baker back to her.
